Titles Confirmed for Ludwig, Goletiani, Enkhbat and Hess

At the recent FIDE Congress, Daniel Ludwig, Rusudan Goletiani and Tegshsuren Enkhbat's IM titles were confirmed. Robert Hess has been conditionally awarded his GM title, which will be official on July 1 when his rating will shoot to 2560!

World Cup Qualifiers

The World Cup qualifiers have been announced by FIDE. Americans who already qualify include Gata Kamsky, Jaan Ehlvest and the top five at the U.S. Championship. The Continental Championships in Sao Paulo July 25-August 2 will qualify six more spots.

USCF Sued by Board Member; Personnel Budget Cut 20%

In August of last year, the USCF was sued by current Executive Board Member Susan Polgar. As a result, the USCF has had to make some difficult cuts, including a reduction to personnel costs of 20% for an undetermined period. Read more details from Bill Hall.
