Chess Master Kurt Schneider, who most recently played first board for the Yale "A" team at the 2008 Pan American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championship, was featured on the Oprah show Monday, February 22. But not for chess. Schneider and fellow Yale student Sam Tsui are Internet music sensations. In their YouTube video (recreated live on Oprah), vocalist Tsui sings all parts of a Michael Jackson medley. Through the magic of computers, producer Schneider makes it look like there are actually seven Sams singing at once on Oprah's stage. You can see more at this Oprah link and a discussion which features both Sam and Kurt.

Here is one of Kurt's games from the 2008 Pan-American Championships. He was strategically worse but navigated to a perpetual to secure a draw against his higher rated Canadian opponent, FM Bindi Cheng:
