USCF Scholastic Director Jerry Nash heads up the team serving you from national headquarters in Crossville, Tennessee. Jerry, who reports to Executive Director Bill Hall, is responsible for all aspects of scholastic chess, which - as this web site shows - is quite extensive. You can contact Jerry at jnash@uschess.org.
Patricia Knight serves as National Events Director, as well as Assistant Executive Director, and oversees the organization of our extensive program of national scholastic championships. Pat organized the first Supernationals years as a chess mom and volunteer, years before USCF moved to her home state and asked her to join the staff. Today, her many duties include arranging SuperNationals IV in 2009. You can contact Pat at pknight@uschess.org. Glenn Petersen edits Chess Life for Kids magazine. Formerly the editor of USCF's main publication, Chess Life, Glenn took on the job of launching CL4K in mid-2006, and produces full-color issues every two months for all of our members up to age 12. Francesca Butler, our Senior Art Director, has successfully assisted Glenn in executing his vision for a magazine in the style of Highlights for Children, the leading publication in the field. You can contact Frankie at fbutler@uschess.org. Jerry, Pat, Glenn and Frankie are supported by numerous members USCF staff members in their work, as scholastic activities account for roughly half of our membership and activities. |
