CALL FOR NOMINATIONS Current USCF members wishing to run for USCF Delegate from their states have until April 1st, 2008, to file nominating petitions. (There are 52 states including the District of Columbia. Northern and Southern California are separate states for USCF governance purposes. Nominations from State Chapters were due on February 1st.) Nominating petitions must bear the signatures, printed names and USCF IDs of 10 current voting members from the member's state of residence as indicated in USCF records, and each petition may nominate only one current USCF member. A voting member is any current USCF member 16 years of age or older as of June 30, 2008, and who lives in the USA. Ballots for the election of 125 Delegates apportioned by state, who will serve as Delegates from the end of the 2008 Delegates Meeting through the 2010 Delegates Meeting, will be distributed in June of 2008, counted in July and the results certified at the 2008 Delegates Meeting in August. Nominating petitions must be postmarked by April 1st, 2008, and must be sent to Pat Knight, US Chess Federation, PO Box 3967, Crossville TN 38557. All candidates must either sign their own nominating petition or otherwise consent to being placed on the ballot. Notice to Candidates: On February 3rd, 2008, the USCF Executive Board modified the USCF's privacy policy to reaffirm the USCF's obligation to make the names and addresses of its governance leaders available to USCF members. Accordingly, the USCF will publish the names and addresses of its Delegates either in Chess Life or on the USCF website and may also publish email addresses for those individuals. Delegates (and candidates) who would prefer the USCF to give out a mailing address or email address other than the one used for official USCF matters (such as mailing Chess Life) should contact the USCF office to supply alternate public contact information.
