Krush-Mrktchian Match Kicks Off Print E-mail

The 1st North American Challenge Match (March 31-April 3) features current and two-time U.S. Women's Champion IM Irina Krush and IM Lilit Mrktchian, four time Armenian women's champion. The match began with a draw.



Lilit, who arrived on Thursday, has not been to Chicago before.  She will be touring the city on Friday and Saturday.
 
Krush and GM Pascal Charbonneau came in on Friday and both of them spent the weekend analyzing games for those playing in the Illinois Denker qualifer, Polgar qualifer, and Championship for Girls.

The games begin at 5 PM Chicago Time, (6 PM EST.) You can watch them live on the Internet Chess Club or Monroi.com. If you're in the Chicago area, check the games out live at the Holiday Inn Chicago North Shore Hotel. Look out for more photos by Betsy Dynako later this week.
