Website: http://asuchess.com Meeting info: Wednesday from 10:30am-2pm by the Memorial Union (MU) fountain; Thursday evenings from 5pm-10pm in the MU.
The Chess Club @ ASU is very active. For casual players we offer club meetings every Thursday evening in the Memorial Union, and casual play on Wednesday mornings and afternoons outside by the MU fountain. Additionally, we run cash-prize tournaments on most Sundays and a standard 4SS G/60 tournament on one Saturday a month. We also field a competitive team and host events for the AZ chess community. Visit our website for more details.
If you're looking for team camaraderie play, we also have the Sun Devil Chess Team. Our team plays competitively at tournaments around the country. Recent events that we have been represented at are the 2010 Pan-American Intercollegiate Championship and the 2011 Tucson Open; the 2011 Western Class Championships, the 2011 Amateur West Championship, the 2011 Ye Olde Pueblo Open, and a slew of local tournaments.
We have a very big chess club (over 300 people on our email list) and we are always looking for more players, even non-students. Almost all our events are open to the public, so stop by at any of our events. The Chess Club @ ASU mainly caters to adults, as its primary community is college students. As such, many of our events are limited to adults or people of at least high-school-age. However, our Sparky Spectacular tournaments are open to ANY rated USCF member, and most of our events are open to juniors by invitation or of high school age. Please check out http://ASUchess.com for up-to-date details on the chess club’s activities and events. University of Connecticutt

We are a University Chess Club aiming to provide a playing location and opportunity for all chess players living on campus or in the surrounding area. We meet at two different nights to accommodate the serious tournament players and also the novice and casual players. It can also be for someone who just wants to learn to play.
We meet in room 206 in the Castlemen Building (Engineering I) Tuesday from 7:30 PM until 9:30 PM for casual and learning play. We also meet in the same place on Thursdays from 7:30 PM until end of games for rated Tournament play. The time controls for Thursday games vary, but are always G/ time controls. Check TLAs for details. One should be a USCF member for the tournament play. Beginners, regular or occasional players, and tournament players are welcome!
The UConn Chess Club is organized to promote the game of chess at the University of Connecticut by holding regular meetings, organizing tournaments, and teaching community members about chess. We are always trying to get a team into intercollegiate and amateur tournaments. It is a future goal of ours to have a team compete in the Pan-Am games.
Meetings are open and free to the public! Tournaments usually have a small fee.
