Press Release #8 of 2007jnash@uschess.org

(Crossville, TN)

The 2007 Pan American Youth Chess Festival is scheduled for July 2 – 7, in Medellin, Colombia. Due to the travel warning issued by the U.S. State Department and the liability issues involved with such travel, the USCF has declined to send an official delegation to this year’s event. The office will work with individuals who choose to attend in securing the appropriate paperwork requested by the tournament organizers. We deeply regret the need to decline and look forward to participation in next year’s Pan American Youth.
