Kamsky Advances in Elista! By Jennifer Shahade | 31 May 2007 Gata Kamsky won his third game in a row against Etienne Bacrot at the Candidates Matches in Elista. He now advances to the second round, where from June 6-14 he will play the winner of Kasimdzhanov- Gelfand.
Hip Hop Chess in San Francisco By Jennifer Shahade | 30 May 2007 On May 19, the Hip Hop Chess Federation hosted an unusual event in San Francisco, involving IM Josh Waitzkin and some of the most bold-faced names in hip-hop like RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan. Gata Wins Again! By Jennifer Shahade | 29 May 2007 After winning the second game on time, Gata Kamsky pushed his c-pawn all the way home to score another full point against the French GM Etienne Bacrot. This raises his score in the first six-game match of the Candidates Matches in Elista to 2.5/3.

Gata Wins Game Two in Elista! By Jennifer Shahade | 28 May 2007 Gata Kamsky defeated the French GM Etienne Bacrot with Black in the second game of their six-game match at the Candidates Matches in Elista, Russia. (May 25-June 14) He was up a pawn in a drawish looking endgame when Etienne lost on time. The first game was a draw.
