Raymond E. Page (1924-2005)

Raymond E. Page died Feb. 8 at age 80. Mr. Page was born May 4, 1924, in Columbia, Mich. He moved in 1958 to Portland and owned the Carpet Counselor.

Survivors include his daughters, Sally J. Page and Annette Boykin-Cogliati; sons, Michael E. and Patrick S.; sisters, Harriet Christie, Helen Beckley and Mary "Betty" Torland; and two grandchildren. His daughter Suzanne died in 1959.

Raymond was in charge of the International Chess Club that met Saturdays at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in SE Portland. We will all miss him and his commitment to promoting chess in the Northwest.
