Gata Kamsky and Michael Adams both won over $14,000 at the World Open in Philadelphia, held from June 28-July 4, 2011. See full details on worldopen.com and in Jamaal Abdul-Alim's report. (Jamaal will also be writing the report for Chess Life Magazine.) Kamsky took the first place bonus prize with an Armageddon tiebreak victory. The US Chess Scoop talked to Adams as well as GMs Loek Van Wely, Timur Gareyev, IM Irina Krush and the young James Black.
